Just having a high bid is not enough, you have to meet some certain requirements when set by the seller or eBay.

Error 80 usually means that your password is not secure enough (eBay's requirements).
Please check this forum thread for ideas:
http://www.myibay.com/forums/viewtopic/1316/short-or-weak-password-will-prevent-you-from-bidding/

You can always check "My Status" field to see what exactly was not accepted.
If you want me to check it, please let me know your item number.

I always recommend to set somewhere in between 6-10 seconds.
2 seconds will snipe too, but you have a much higher chance to miss your snipe especially in peak times when eBay servers are too busy.

Anyway, setting 2 seconds instead of 6 seconds does not make any difference anyway.
If someone had an auto-bid, that means that someone setup their snipe long time before auction ended and your snipe time would not affect it anyway.
