myibay unreliable can I have my money back? Sun Aug 29, 2010 09:41 PM Quote

I keep setting up snipes and nothing happens. It does not bid. Even though the final value is well below my maximum.
Myibay says the snipe is active.
I have lost all confidence in this.
Can I have my money back please?

I checked your account and I don't see any problems with your snipes. Here is what I see:

Out of about 40-50 items:

1. You won 6 items by sniping.

2. You lost about 20-25 auctions. Your snipe was lower than the final bid. You can't win on eBay if your bid is lower than others.
The final values were not well below your maximum, they were higher than your snipes.

3. You also set a Group with limit "1 item to win". Then you added about 15 items into that Group, you won 1 item and so it cancelled all other snipes.
You may want to check how to use Groups before using it to get familiar with this feature:
What is Group: http://www.myibay.com/login/faq/2/#q10
How to use Groups: http://www.myibay.com/login/faq/2/#q11

There are several listing with Buy It Now option only, not auction style. You can't snipe those.

If you have a question regarding some particular item number, please provide the number of the auction.

If you still want to get a money back, you have to provide your payment information (such as your PayPal transaction id) so I can give you the money you are asking.
Please feel free to use our Contact form for that.

I see the following in "My Status" field:
"Refused login (password problem?)".

It appears you changed your password on eBay, but never updated it on your Myibay account.
The sniper can't snipe without your password:
http://www.myibay.com/login/faq/2/#q6

If you change your eBay password, you have to login with your current password into Myibay to get it in-sync.

I have set bids a few times now also which have not been accepted. I am running the mac beta version and I have not changed my password or set any groups up. Is the mac version known to have issues? it seems hit and miss cause it has worked some times just not always.

Sniping does not guarantee winning. You have to meet eBay's and seller's requirements.

You did not provide the item number so I can't tell you what exactly you did not meet.
You may check the "My Status" field for the exact reason if you don't want to provide the item number in question.
