Ok so when I set the maximum bid does that mean that that is the bid that the ebay sniper will do? Or the sniper will bid up to that set amount and not bid any more if the bidding price is higher?

The sniper will use your maximum to bid at that amount. Then eBay's proxy bidding will decide how much you are going to pay (usually lower than your maximum amount).

Oh ok so for example, the current price is at 1000 my max bid is at 2200 and coming to the last final seconds say the highest bid is 1506.32 then my bid would be placed to win at the last lets say 3-5 secs would it be the next increment above 1506.32?

Your bid will be your maximum, but you will win this auction at 1506.32 + 25.0 (increment) = 1531.32
Assuming nobody else bid higher.

Thought I would add on to this question instead of creating a new thread. I feel really dumb asking this but not sure how this works so...If I am the highest bidder already and winning it wont snipe my own bids right?

I should have added an example.
I placed a bid for $3.99, there are no bids beating me yet. I placed a snipe at $18. If I'm already winning the bid what happens? Does it throw the bid in and ebay recognizes that and let's me win it for $3.99. I guess I just don't know how integrated Sniper is with Ebay.

Actually, the answer is in the same thread.
The sniper will snipe $18, but you will win the auction at $3.99 assuming nobody else bid higher.
