Can't resolve eBay problem because myibidder bids using ebay.com instead ebay.de domain Tue Jun 12, 2012 09:51 AM Quote

Hi forum and myibidder team,

I recently had a defective item sent to me by a seller, and therefore wanted to open a case with eBay regarding this item.

However, I can't do that on eBay Germany because they tell me that my bid has been submitted on eBay.com.

eBay support even outright told me that they suspect I had used a sniper service which according to the terms is forbidden....

Thus, is there a way that myibidder submits the bids to the native domains of the respective myibidder members?

Thank you already for considering,

Regards David.P

If you did not change your settings, it will submit using ebay.com (eBay US).
Myibidder supports eBay Australia and eBay UK as well.

Sniping on eBay is not forbidden. I had many cases resolved fast by eBay US with no problems. They stand for their service and I highly appreciate eBay doing it, so I always suggest my friends it's safe to shop on eBay.

Hi Sashka and thanks for the reply.

In Germany however, sniping is forbidden, see here:

Anyway, would it be possible to add ebay.de support to myibidder?

Regards David

But your snipe was not submitted using eBay Germany, so you are fine.

I don't know German so I need some help to add it.
I had several users who promised to contribute, but nobody came back after all. This is a big process of testing and translating about 200 messages which comes in slowly.

Now I see what you mean. Do you think that there will be no problems if I resolve cases regarding eBay articles sold on eBay.de (but won on eBay.com) using the eBay US services? Will they still handle the case, refund money etc.?

You have to open the case using the same eBay site where your bid was originated. I guess this is because eBay Germany is different entity compared to eBay US, so each gets their own fees and insurance coverage.

You have to open the case using ebay.com (My eBay - Purchase History. On the right of the item in question click "More Actions" - Resolve a Problem).
You may need to ship the item back to the seller with tracking information so you'll have a proof that your return was delivered back.
