Item won, but... Thu Sep 27, 2012 01:19 AM Quote

I used Android app to snipe on this item (370654283825), and it says I won the auction (in both Android app and web site) but I forgot to enter my e-mail address before the bid/snipe.

I did that afterwards (after auction ended), but I haven't got any confirmation/mail yet. Is my bid lost, and what should I do now?

You could use this as a suggestion for improving android app by not letting user snipe until e-mail address field is filled :)

Thanks in advance!

It said you won because there was an issue with some eBay changes when they reported you won even if you did not.
That was resolved and everything works as expected now.

I'm not sure why you want to restrict users to make email required. Many users would not want to share they email so this is not required for the sniper to work.
They can snipe without entering email, that's fine.

Thanks for your quick reply :)

1. This happened few hours ago, and that's why I thought it has nothing to do with eBay updates some users were mentioning few days ago.

2. I didn't mean to restrict users by making e-mail required. I just thought it was a mandatory thing in order to successfully complete sniping on an item. After I encountered the problem mentioned above, I was convinced that I caused this by not entering my e-mail address :)

To sum this up - I didn't win anything, and I should just delete this item from myibidder, and lower my expectations and hopes? :)

1. Actually, eBay rolls out the updates during several days, it does not happen at one moment everywhere. I see some updates are still rolling out.

2. I don't think you should lower your expectations (unless you thought Myibidder guarantees winning no matter what you do, which it does not).
Myibidder tries everything possible to increase your chance and keep the service working.
However, there are certain situations (like eBay is making changes) which can't be predicted, but we try to minimize the impact as much as possible.
