outbid vs outsniped

I lost 2 auctions using myibidder...one due to being outbid and the other outsniped. What's the difference?

Outbid means someone else bid higher before your snipe came in.
Outsniped means someone else bid higher after your snipe came in.
In any case someone else bid higher.
