Heya! Always used your web version for years and today it didn't let me log in saying wrong password/username. I went and bought the standalone windows version as I wanted to do it anyway, but I am getting same issues.

Diagnostics says login fail. I even went into ebay and changed the password to be sure - same thing. Any advice?

I'm on win10.

Please contact support directly with your account-related issues if you don't want to share your eBay user id.
Don't forget to provide your eBay user id for a faster response.

seems to be working now. Some other threads here suggest that is was a temporary lock. How can I avoid this happening in the future?

There is no one way which works for everyone.
Please note that the majority of users don't experience this issue at all.
Some users just created another eBay account for sniping purposes, some updated their passwords to something stronger, YMMV.
For example, I had it once on one of my own accounts long time ago, but then it was gone quickly and I've never seen it again.
