In trying to download myibay-setup.exe, my virus scanner gives me a download "failed - virus detected" error.

Can you explain why I would see this warning?

Please provide the full message or a screenshot.

Also, let me know the link you used. It seems like you used a link outside of the website which is not supported. All software must be downloaded from this website only.

Tried to download from address in email
http://www.myibidder.com/download/myibay-setup.exe

I can't seem to find much information about the error on my system. I don't know where log files are kept. I get a windows defender message in the win10 action center (screen capture attached) and apparaently a Google chrome message in the task bar (image attached). Clicking on these messages to get more info does not provide any details.

I tried using Windows Defender in the past and it did not find any virus in the file.
I tried the latest definition and I see it reported it. Seems like a false alarm.
I submitted it to Microsoft for investigation.
Thank you for letting me know.

Meanwhile, you can use the Web-based interface of the sniper or add the file to the exceptions list.

Just to confirm, the definition version I used is 1.249.257.
I checked the file with Microsoft using the later version 1.249.264 and it confirmed the file is clean.

So it appears the issue was already resolved on their side. You may need to update your Defender to get the latest.
