7. Q: How to decide how much to bid?
A: This is a difficult question... from the first glance.. but once you figure out the whole or part of psychology of bidding and bidding war then it will be easy for you and it will help you to win auctions at higher rate.
For example, you want to win a cell phone. You're thinking to pay about $50 for it (please don't forget about shipping cost, but let's say shipping is free to simplify our situation).
Many people who want the same phone would be bidding around $50 also and you will loose this auction if someone bids $50 before you.
What do you do?
You can specify a few cents more. It won't hurt your budget if you put $50.01 instead of $50.00. You might be paying 1 cent extra, but since eBay uses proxy bidding system then you most probably will pay less anyway (that's why eBay sniper is great here!).
There are few people who know this rule and put $50.01 so I would personally recommend to put something like $50.03 or $50.04 -- this way you will outbid several groups of people: the ones who put even amount ($50), the ones who go over the first group and put just 1 cent more ($50.01) and the ones who go over the second group and put 2 cents more ($50.02).
To summarize: put a few cents more -- it won't hurt your budget, but will add a much greater chance to win that item you want.
8. Q: Do I have to keep my computer online to place a bid?
A: No, you don't have to. You have to be online when setting up your snipe only. Once it's set, it will be placed by the server itself, not by your computer so you can get offline or turn off your computer at all. No need to keep it running.
9. Q: What is Group feature?
A: Group feature lets you win limited number of auctions within huge number of available ones. For example, you need cell phone charger for your phone and you want to pay $5 as your maximum. There are plenty auctions with this item so you can enter several auctions, set your limit (if you want to win 1 or 2 items only) and myibay system will be bidding until you win your item. Once you won it then it will cancel all other auctions in the same group.
10. Q: How to use Groups?
A: This is easy. Just follow these steps: - Enter all items you would like myibay to watch
- Group them in the group with unique name (i.e. "cell phone charger")
- Enter number of items you want to win (i.e. "1" if you need one item only)
- Schedule a bid on each auction through myibay system.
myibay will watch your auctions and will try to win one-by-one. myibay system will stop bidding once it will reach your requirements. Dutch auctions are not fully supported yet. The Group feature is under heavy testing so although it works proper way currently, but please contact us if you experience any issues with it.
11. Q: Any requirements for Group bidding?
A: There is one you have to know about. Your auctions within the same group have to be at least 1 minute apart from each other in order for the sniper to have enough time to cancel other snipes once your goal is met. That means that if you have two auctions ending too close to each other then Myibidder may still win more than one even if you set 1 auction to win as your requirement.
12. Q: How much does it cost?
A: The Web version of the sniper is completely FREE. However, if you wish to help us supporting it, please consider a Donation. Donations are not required, but it helps to maintain this service. Mobile apps are paid using a tiny amount for each won snipe, lost snipes do not count.
13. Q: How do I register?
