Hi,

Very good and useful feature will be popup windows with item image or small thumbnail like in other snipers. When I mouse-run over grid (or table) with items list a popup window is appears with current item picture.
Witout this I all time must load item from ebay in browser.

Thanks.

Adding to a group Sun Oct 05, 2008 07:36 PM Quote

Hi Saska,

adding articles to a group is more tedious than necessary, I feel.

May I return some feedback for a tool which works very well, but which might profit from some minor adjustments:

1) entering "Snipe it" -> Schedule

... will show the full bid overview afterwards. What for? The snipe-it window is very small and not sufficient for the full overview. Before, it was a simple confirmation instead of this overview. The overview is not helpful at all, since I can not scroll within this miniature window.

My personal preference would be to close the Snipe-It Window automatically.

2) Adding articles to a group: Sticky group choice

When I chose a certain group on a bid, there is a high probability that the next sniped article will belong to the same group, taking maybe the same price.

Thus it would be a major improvement to get the same price and group choice when I snipe a new article within several minutes, let's say up to one hour. Cookies would be a good choice here.

3) Adding articles

What's the use of the add article field? It could be very powerful e.g. within a group to add further articles to this group. But currently it does not add it to this group. It does add it as "none" and leaves the group overview. It does not offer a price option, nor a group choice. Thus I have to go via ebay again just to add the myibay info.

It would be more powerful if I could add articles directly here, taking the group I am in as default.

Even more powerful would be a textfield where I could insert more than one article number - delimited e.g. by carriage return, space, comma, semicolon, plus etc. Almost anything other than a number could be used as a delimiter, as long as you do not consider to permit bid info here as well.

4) checkbox operations

Further checkboxed operations could be
- move checked articles to a certain group
- give checked articles a certain price

BTW: delivery cost might be an extra helpful info for the overview as well as for the bid window.

Thanks for taking this into consideration. Please feel free to ask if I did not describe my dreams properly!

You have a nice service.

I did not do a search so this suggestion may be redundant.

One additional feature would help --- providing at least one place for user input about an item.

Perhaps two different areas to input information.

1. An area where an user can type general comments about the item (e.g. links where the the item can be purchased outside the auction, prices found, unique features about the item that make it more or less valuable, etc.).

2. An area (perhaps a column next to the max bid price) where an user can put a dollar amount (such as the dollar amount the item can be purchased for outside the auction).

These two areas would allow a user to research an item and type in his/her findings for later review.

What has to be done to see this again?

New coupons and discounts for eBay Buy It Now using Microsoft Live (up to 30%) Mon Oct 13, 2008 02:54 AM Quote

Microsoft has a cashback on eBay auctions which are listed as "Buy It Now".

The discount is usually about 5-30% off the regular BIN price.
The restrictions might be changing, but what I saw last time is that you are eligible for discount up to $250 per purchase and you are limited for 3 purchases per your eBay account.
Your cashback will get to you using PayPal (no PayPal commissions) after 30 days after your purchase (to make sure you won't do a dispute.

You have to follow those instructions to get it:
1. Find the item you want (must be Buy It Now) and add it to your Watch list.
2. Go to live.com and search for something you wish to find on eBay until you get "Live Search Cashback".
For example, I searched for "xbox" and "wii" to get it.
I see it's currently running at 30% discount.
3. Click on that link to get to eBay. Once you are in, you will see a banner on the top saying "Buy It Now with PayPal and you may get cashback. See conditions".
I would suggest to read a restrictions to make sure you qualify (I think you have to be a US resident and some other stuff).
AFAIK, this offer will lasts for 60 minutes after you clicked on it.
4. Go to your Watch List and Buy It Now your item of your dreams. You have to use PayPal to make payment within 60 minutes or so.
5. After a while, you will get a message into "My Messages" in your eBay account saying that you got a cashback from Microsoft.
6. Click on that link to register a Microsoft live account (if you don't have one).
7. If everything goes right, you will get a cashback to your PayPal account after 30 days.

I personally tested the whole procedure and it worked!
I got my $170 and have a nice Dell 24" Monitor :-)

Would be great to have a bid assistant like in myebay but with the sniper.

Example:
You snipe an item for X amount of money, if you don't win it automatically snipes the following in the group with a different amount of money if you want(in chronological order obviously)and so on, until you win one.

Thank you!

my snipe bids are not being placed by myibay when seller uses a "turbo listing" service Thu Oct 16, 2008 10:27 PM Quote

Hi. I have found a seller that lists many items that I like and all of his items win within the same minute or so of each other. I have placed snipe bids on any where from 10 - 50 different auctions of his that all end within the same time. I come back to myibay to see if I won any and find that my bids were never placed! This has happened on 3-4 occasions over the past several weeks. I have tried to changed the time that my bids are entered anywhere from 6-8 seconds and have even staggered my times when bidding on a group of items. Nothing seems to work. I am very discouraged. Do you have any helpful hints? Thanks, superstartoys

I am using the firefox plugin and I can right click snipe it with myibay.com. I then get a popup with the ebay.co.uk item in it and a box to add username and password but it will not accept the username and password. I have checked the username and pswd and they are correct. Does the web based system work with ebay.co.uk?

Suggestion:

Instead of the "STAGE" column in the BUY screen, it would be great to have the Snipe "GROUP" displayed.

Just wanted to remind you that having a good secure password will make your experience with our service better.

If your password is too weak (is a dictionary word, too short, have your eBay user id), then some functions won't work (including sniping).
Please check this link for password suggestions if you experiencing problems with sniping:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/create-password.html#tips

Once you changed your password, you will have to relogin with your new password to update your changes.

My bid ($6.43) was higher than the winning bid ($5.99). I hadn't had any problems until today.

*** I figured it out; my bid wasn't high enough (needed to be $6.49) to meet the minimum bid increment (damn) ***

There are some issues when adding some international auctions (non-US).
We're currently working on it.

Is withdrawing bids legal? Thu Oct 30, 2008 02:53 PM Quote

From what I can read in ebay's policies, sniping is legal but withdrawing bids is not (except in very particular cases). The way I understand the 'group' function in myibay,if I snipe a group of auctions and win one, myibay cancels the bids on the remaining auctions. Can ebay penalize me for withdrawing bids illegally using this software?

I created a group (very nice feature) and used it successfully. Now I want to delete it ... but I can't figure out how.

There must be a way, right?
