MacWhite: html bugs, shown in FF 2 Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:32 AM Quote

Hi,

I just checked the new style Mac White.

Unfortunately it does not show up properly: within the left column the first line is shown properly, while all further lines are moved rightwards out of the column area.

I don't know the exact reason yet, but I found some minor errors via the validator:

* <input should end in />
* <option needs selected="selected"> instead of selected for xhtml

Hi Sashka,

did you disable the function on purpose which group does contain new Messages?

First of all, there's the basic visited mechanism which might permit different colors for visited URLs - or advanced css options for alink & vlink.

Second, the vBulletin should permit to show new postings by different color, different logo or "new" marking.

This group was created for beta testers of myibay for Mac OSX application only.
It's visible when you logged in only. Obviously, you can make posts when you are logged in as well.

Any suggestions regarding specifically for this application (not Web-based interface) are welcome here.
If you have some suggestion for general Web-based interface, please use the following public group:

Although, this is a private group, do NOT post any sensitive information such as your passwords etc.

General rule is plain and simple: please respect others. Everybody has a different level of knowledge and experience.

I have been in the situation where I wanted an item but only if I won another auction.
Example I wanted two of plates (different designs) total amount I was willing to pay was £40. I won the first at a low price £8 this meant that I was able to go up to £32 for the second I won it at £22. If I'd set the amounts at £20 each I would have lost the second. It did mean that I was up until 2 am when the first auction finished before I could place my bid for the second item

An import and export function would be just great.

Thus one might export a range of items, add some more item numbers (e.g. from an ebay search), assign a certain price and/or group for all of them and import them again.

Import/export could be a most simple plain text format, e.g. separated by tabs, containing the basic info such as item id, title, seller, bid, group, end time, bid time offset.

Import might be either as an addon or replacing previous items.

Export should be just the same so that an edit could be done e.g. via Excel, simple text editors etc.

Automatic bid increase Tue Mar 24, 2009 06:56 PM Quote

Example: someone bids $21.00 for an item, with seven seconds remaining in the auction. My snipe is $21.15, to be placed six seconds before the end. My bid will not be accepted, since the bid increment is $.50.

My idea: have an option for each auction that will automatically increase the snipe amount by $.50 or $1.00, if the first amount is too low and is not accepted as a valid bid.

There may be some legal or Ebay policy implications for this, but it seems like it would be a useful and successful feature.

The snipe is refused because I live in the wrong country Thu Mar 26, 2009 08:59 PM Quote

After a seller agrees to ship to me internationally, the system sometimes refuses to snipe because I live in the wrong country. I lost several nice bargains!
To avoid this problem, I would like to log in as "a local buyer" Could this be a new option?
I would like to enter the item nr price, snipe time and country in the future

I placed a snipe for $80 last night using the addon to firefox(I have v3.0.7), and when I woke up this morning it hadn't placed the bid(there were no other bidders).

Is there any way to tell what went wrong? Was 3 seconds too short a time?

I have a small request that maybe you can think about incorporating in a future update.

In my main myibay page with all the current snipe bids that I've placed, I wish you could add a column that shows which snipe group the particular snipe is.

or

pre-sort the snipes into separate tables by snipe group.

thank you

I am absolutely certain I paid for this service early last year. I have not been asked to renew. Has this service again charged the same bank acct? If so, I need to redirect to another acct. Be warned: if I am lied to I will hold this service legally responsible.

My Ebay password was recently compromised so I had to have it changed.

Recently my snipes have worked. I don't know if it's because of my ebay password being changed or what?
Under status it say "refused login password to weak".
Under could not win it says "wrong password or timeout"
What do I need to do to fix the problem?

Will my snipe be at the price I set or the lowest possible winning price? e.g. current bis is $5.00, my snipe is 10.00. Will my snipe be entered at 5.50 or 10.00?

many thanks!

Hey, this service really delivers, so thanks for providing it. I won the first item I sniped even though it was a very competitive auction, and got a great deal. If it keeps working for me, I will donate generously!

My idea is this (sorry if it's already been suggested or is already implemented, but I'm new to myibay):

It's to do with another option for groups. Instead of choosing how many items you want to win before bidding is cancelled, you have the option of choosing how much money you want to spend before bidding for that group is cancelled. Say I want to spend £5000 on 1 kilo silver bars which usually sell for about £400. So I set up snipe on twenty different auctions for this item with my maximum bid at £390 for each. If I won all the auctions at the maximum price, I would pay £7800. So I set the maximum number of wins at 12, meaning that if I won all 12 at £390 I would be still safely within my £5000 limit. But what if I had won 5 of those 12 auctions at £350 instead of £390? Then I would still have £520 left over with which I could continue to bid. So ideally I would set a maximum spend limit instead of a maximum number of wins limit.

That is my idea. You've probably heard it before and for all I know I just haven't discovered that myibay already allows me to do it. If so, silly me! But I just wanted to pass it on anyway!

many thanks

p.s. I would love to try out your mac standalone

Hello.

I was wondering whether it was necessary to put what kind of form of payment you use on your ibay main page?
I mean...will my bid still be valid if the payment status states "zero"?

FF add-on: eBay pages hang - myibay link/logo not loading; FF3 Tue Apr 07, 2009 06:57 AM Quote

My question relates to the Firefox extension.

Starting about three days ago, the myibay link does not load on auction pages...not, at least, on most of them. A very few pages (maybe 1 in 25) seem to load, fine. After some tests, I'm certain this problem is server-side and specific to the FF add-on, whether at your end or eBay's (how pages are served; API, etc.).

I get the same error on two machines, both running FF3 - one under XP, one under Vista. At first, I had assumed this was just a matter of the myibay server(s) being stressed by high levels of activity. But when this error occurs, the status line indicates we're waiting for some kind of eBay includes.

Thinking it might be - however inexplicably - related to a conflict with other eBay-related includes, I even went so far as to switch off my Auctiva apps, because their apps are often very slow to load. Unfortunately, nothing changed. But, once your extension is disabled, all eBay pages seem to load, quickly and completely.

Any ideas? Anyone else noticed this?
