I placed bids on the four following ebay item numbers about 2-4 days ago thru the Firefox extension:

150355771595 did not go off, even though my bid was higher than the final selling price;

170351223036 did not go off, even though my bid was higher than the final selling price;

160345566598 did not go off, even though my bid was higher than the final selling price;

170351223782 went off and won the item.

Why did this happen?

I haven't run into this in person, but it happens when I snipe.
My registered country is Canada, but I have a Montana, US "ship to" address.
When I bid on Ebay, I don't have a problem with the shipping restrictions.
On this Snipe bid:

My Status:You are registered in a country to which the seller doesn't ship
It was rejected.
It seems that Ebay ignores the Ship to address when I snipe?!?
Any idea why it works when you place the bid at Ebay, but not by myibay?

How do I go about closing my account? For the first time, someone tried to bid on an item in ebay using my account and this is the only other place my password is kept. Although I don't know if the hack came via myibay's database, I'm sure you understand my concerns and the need to close it down. I have changed my ebay password but can't find where to close the myibay account. Please help.

I'm a first timer and the item number in question is 370226181223. I believe I entered the details correctly, my bid was actually slightly higher than the winning one, and there are no issues with my feedback or with seller requirements. I've been reading similar posts on the Forum, but am still not much clearer. On another note: you refer to 'my status', but when I look at my item description on the myibay page I only see "update status". Thanks, Hans

Import from watching works really nicely and is a great feature! I also like the browser button which takes you straight to the item in your browser.

Groups do not work yet - here anyway. The import from watching on the group tab works, and it seems to import the items, but they aren't added to the list.

Looking good so far.

I think the item pane is a little inefficient in terms of space usage. Currently the window needs to be quite big to display enough information.

Would it be possible to compress this by adding more than one item property on the same line?

For example Item ID and quantity, and maybe current bid and time left.

This means we could keep the myibay window quite small and still see all the information.

for preference mostly does not work...
when I go in settings... if I try to enter some value (username... ) and press tab to go to the next box, it does not work.... it stays in the same box.

I have a couple of questions about the snipe bid placement if the snipe amount I entered is higher than the next ebay increment. I placed a snipe at $12 for an item that was at $10.50 within 1 minute of the auction close. My bid was placed for $12. I would have expected this to be the next bid increment or $11. Am i missing something ?

As it turns out I was out bid by a bid that was placed earlier. Proxy bid I guess. Not sure how that got in there with 10 secs left. Do I need to lower the snipe timing to 6 secs or would this have happened in any case ?

i am looking at the app and running it on my mac but i was wondering, Does the app have to stay running after i setup a snipe ?

I use the web-based myibay service & am very glad to have it, thank you.

One of the perhaps unintended benefits for me is the ability to refer to a watching & bidding history well beyond that of eBay, invaluable when looking a price trends etc. The downside is that my main item listing is getting longer & longer & slower & slower

Questions/issues:
1) does the myibay web version do any automatic data housekeeping? It seems as though I have lost some of my older items but that could be just my memory.

2) is there a way of exporting the item list out into something like csv so I can keep my history offline? I have been grabbing the item list using a FireFox table addon which works OK but the resulting spreadsheets are lardy with all the widgets I don't need to keep in an archive.

3) as a history/archive medium I would benefit greatly from the actual bid & sale prices being updated as the item auctions progress. I guess that would means a full update of watching & watched items into myibay instead of just new watched items, but it seems like you are already doing most of the data work already?

Any thoughts?

When I use the tools to import watched items, myibay comes back stating that I have 0 items, when I do in fact have several. What's up with that?

Hi, this is the first time I am using a snipe tool. I have won something and the seller made contact and send me the invoice but I can't pay since Ebay doesn't seem to have realized that I was the highest bidder.

Yesterday i lost this auction. it just had 1 bid at the starting price (!!!) and the service didn't work so i lost it. such a simple auction..= such a shame!!

I know this has been mentioned a couple of times but I really think the current bid prices should be updated when update status is pressed.

The reason is that I would like to know how many items I am definitely not going to win or possible going to win.

For instance if I want to buy something that I need but can get it on Amazon for $12, I might snipe for $11. If the bidding goes to $12 I can see straight away that I am not going to win and go and purchase it from Amazon or the high street store and get it straight away.

It is always useful to have an idea of items you are definitely not going to win and ones that you are possibly going to be able to snipe. (Bit like e-bay's own bid feature where you see "winning" and "losing")

convert it to 12 hour time something like this, since i am in the eastern time zone +3 hours:
